When a patio needs work
- Cracked, sunken or uneven sections, or trip edges between slabs.
- Water that pools on the patio or runs toward the house.
- An old patio you want to replace or enlarge.
- A new backyard space, or a patio for a new ADU.
How we build it
- Remove the old concrete, if there is one, and haul it away.
- Grade and compact the base so the slab has firm, even support.
- Set the forms and reinforcement, and slope the surface away from the house.
- Pour and finish the concrete, with control joints to manage cracking.
Built with drainage in mind
A patio against the house is one of the most common ways water ends up at the foundation. We slope every patio away from the house, and where it's needed we add drains to carry the water off.
Questions
Can you replace part of a patio?
Often, yes. We cut out the damaged sections and repour them, after fixing what made them move.
Can the patio connect to a walkway or driveway?
Yes. We pour patios, walks and driveways, and can plan them together so the levels and drainage work as one.
